#SpelljammerConfirmed

They did it. They really did it.

And they even TOLD us about it...and we didn't believe them 'cause they announced it on April Fool's...

But today, they confirmed it: Spelljammer IS coming! Those wily monsters did it!

In August, Spelljammer hits store shelves in a three volume slipcase collection that also includes a double-sided poster map and a thematic DM screen.

It includes: The Astral Adventurer's Guide, Boo's Astral Menagerie, and The Light of Xaryxis.

The Astral Adventurer's Guide is the book for both players and DMs that gives you all the knowhow on piloting the spaceways in this new setting. Excitingly it includes SIX new playable races including: Astral Elves, Autognomes (automatons built in the sturdy gnomish way), Hidozi (a race of bipedal flying monkeys), the Giff (a hippo faced race of lost souls,) Plasmoids (the first ever playable Ooze in 5e,) and the Thri-Keen.

Boo's Astral Menagerie is a new bestiary that includes monsters and foes drawn from across the universe and appropriate for any spacefaring campaign. Look for new creatures like lunar and solar dragons...and other space horrors of which we dare not speak.

The Light of Xaryxis is an adventure, which takes place in the wildways, and offers a good intro to this new setting.

The collection is the first setting of this type for 5e, so it'll be interesting to see if the format continues going forward.

Each individual book is only 64 pages, so the collection is a bit shorter than the average Dungeons & Dragons book, but not by much.

As noted you're also getting a sick thematic DM screen and poster map in the collection as well.

#Spelljammer confirmed has been a meme for a long time and now that it's finally here, the question must be asked: what is DnD Twitter going to do with itself for entertainment?

The answer of course is SAIL THROUGH SPACE.

If this trailer doesn't get fans excited for what's to come...nothing will.

And yes, there are miniature gigantic space hamsters. See for yourself:
